Growing Garlic

Garlic's origins are in the mountainous, cold and dry regions of Central Asia. Worldisle Farm offers an environment and climate which is as close to these origins as is possible in Australia.

Not far from the Snowy Mountains on the Monaro, in a rain shadow on the Dry Plains Road, are some hidden alluvial flats of the upper Murrumbidgee River. These fertile flats, heavy frosts, very little natural rainfall, access to irrigation and the large change in day length between winter and summer, all contribute to us being able to grow large cloved, large bulbed Italian style garlic.

These favourable conditions and most importantly the long term work with biodynamics, produces beautifully plump, firm and flavoursome garlic, ideal for restaurants and those who enjoy the ease of large cloves.
